Network of Rural and Agrarian Studies (NRAS) is a network of researchers and scholars engaged issues of rural and agrarian India. It was established in 2010 with the twin objectives of reinvigorating the study of agrarian and rural issues in India’s academic institutions and influencing the pedagogy and curriculum of academic institutions to encompass rural and agrarian issues. The Mentoring Initiative is an effort of NRAS to offer an opportunity for students in rural and peri-urban colleges and universities to discuss their research ideas and get feedback on their written work from leading scholars associated with the network.
The Mentoring Initiative 2019 will have two components:-
a) An online component as part of which, selected participants will receive detailed feedback towards developing and refining a paper from their dissertation/thesis work.

b) Mentoring Workshop at IIT Delhi on September 28, 2019 as part of which participants will present their final papers and will receive detailed feedback from a panel of scholars part of NRAS.

Applications are invited from Masters and Phd Scholars working on rural and agrarian India. Preference will be given to applicants from non-metro cities and those having done schooling through non-English medium. The last date of applying is 20th May 2019.
