I am a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. My current research work looks at the nature of discourse particles in language, with a special emphasis on their empirical distribution, interpretative import and co-occurrence possibilities and what this informs us about the computational component of the human language faculty. I hold a PhD degree in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (2021). My doctoral thesis situated Hindi discourse particle '-to' at the syntax-semantics-pragmatics interface and looked at the consequent implications for the information structuring of the language. Prior to joining IIT-D, I have worked as a Faculty (Guest) in the Department of Linguistics at the Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute (Deemed University), Pune (2022) and as a Junior Fellow at the Council for Strategic and Defense Research, New Delhi (2023). I have also worked for certain Government initiatives like the Central Institute of Indian Languages' Scheme for Protection and Preservation of Endangered Languages (SPPEL) research projects and the University Grants Commission's e-Post Graduate Paathshaala Program in linguistics.
