Communities at Risk and Disaster: An Interdisciplinary Perspective
Theme and Objective:
Central to the thematic evolution of a sustainable society (locally, nationally, and globally) is the idea of a modern risk society, the recognition and need to further community resilience (urban and rural), manage natural hazards and mitigate disasters, and secure disaster risk reduction (DRR).
The five-day certificate course being organized at IIT Delhi will expose participants to recent debates, trends, and relevant policy shifts in DRR and how national and state governments are engaged in disaster preparedness and professionals are responding to these emergent challenges on the ground.
