The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is launching full time two-year M.Sc. (Economics) programme from July 2020 semester. The programme draws on the strengths of mathematics, computer science, and other science and engineering disciplines. It is designed for students with bachelors degree in any discipline with substantial knowledge in mathematics.
The programme has a strong research component and consist of two-semesters long project that would prepare students for research. It aims to impart advanced training in economics with a focus on quantitative skills. The curriculum is designed so as to give exposure to broader issues related to developmental challenges in India and beyond. Students choose fields of specialisation in core economics and emerging areas at the intersection of economics with other social sciences as well as computer science and mathematics.
Admissions begin in July 2020. All India level entrance examination on 3 May 2020.
